There are a few other items to consider when selecting Tele Monalisa:
All calls to subscribers of the Tele Monalisa network are free. For calls outside of the network, we have the most competitive CALLING RATES.
Our service is based out of Italy. Because of this, you will need to select an AREA CODE. For subscribers calling England, Italy or Romania frequently, this is a convenient way to minimize long distance calls outside of the network. But if this is of no concern to you, make no selection and Tele Monalisa will make a selection for you.
For all plans, when you call outside of the network you will be charged for the calls. This is posted to what is called your "RE-CHARGE" account. Under this approach, you maintain a minimal balance of money on hand to pay for your outside calls. When this balance gets dangerously low (due to your usage) the account is recharged by Tele Monalisa, thereby preventing interruptions in your service.

FEATURES & HOW IT WORKS

WHAT EXACTLY IS VoIP?
VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol." Translation: the ability to send and receive telephone calls over the Internet. The concept of sending and receiving audio/video over the Internet is not exactly a new concept. We have been able to transmit such files for some time now, although it has been somewhat awkward. Between slow dial-up lines, slow computers, and the technology of the day, the very best we could do was a sort of "walkie-talkie" approach to communicating over the Internet. For example, a person would encode a message (an audio file) which would then be sent over the Internet to your receiver, who would then open the file and hear your message. Kind of like recording, "Hi Bob, how are you?"; the file is then sent over the Internet to Bob who finally opens it and hears, "Hi Bob, how are you?" To combat this problem of stop and go, new technology was introduced called "streaming" whereby packets of data are sent quickly over the Internet as opposed to whole files so the receiver can start to receive the message faster. This has been successfully used for a number of years now by radio stations who broadcast their signal over the Internet as well as over the air.
Today, the computers have gotten faster, and dial-up lines are quickly disappearing with faster DSL and cable lines being used instead, hence the advent of VoIP (also called "Internet Telephony"). Using VoIP, everything is now digital (instead of analog), which means telephone calls are clean and crisp; even better, they are incredibly cheap (much less than anything you are currently experiencing with your land line, cell phone, or even your cable phone).
Using VoIP, you are no longer concerned with "roaming fees," nor are you shackled to a small network of friends and family in a specific geographical area. Now, your network is the Internet, which is accessed by millions of people around the world, at incredibly reduced rates, making the possibilities for communications staggering.

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE A VoIP CONNECTION?
1. BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS - either cable or DSL. Dial-up access service will not work.
2. A ROUTER - For Tele Monalisa VoIP plans, you will need a DSL or cable related router plugged into a modem. A modem is a communications device that can be either internal or external to your computer. It allows one computer to connect another computer and transfer data over telephone lines. The original dial-up modems are becoming obsolete because of their slow speeds and are being replaced by the much faster cable and DSL modems (which are typically external devices supplied by your cable or DSL provider). Supplementing the modem is the Router, a physical device that joins multiple wired or wireless networks together. Home networkers often use an Internet Protocol (IP) wired or wireless router. An IP router such as a DSL or cable modem broadband router joins the home's local area network (LAN) to the wide-area network (WAN) of the Internet.
If you use a wireless router, a bridge is available to place your VoIP telephone or adapter in a different location in your office or house.

3. AN ADAPTER (as sold by Tele Monalisa) - to connect your router to your analog telephone. These are preprogrammed devices which you can unplug and take with you to connect to the Internet when you travel, such as at a hotel. An adapter is not needed by a VoIP phone (the adapter is built into it).

4. AN ANALOG TELEPHONE - If you use a Tele Monalisa adapter, you can use any normal analog telephone. A Wireless phone can set you free to talk anywhere in your home or office.

TELE MONALISA OFFERS VoIP LONG DISTANCE CONNECTIONS TO "MAKE YOU SMILE" Clearwater, FL, USA - Tired of paying expensive long distance telephone calls? So is Tele Monalisa Co., a startup VoIP service headquartered in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, which announced a new service to enable customers to make long distance calls over the Internet at a fraction of today's market prices. VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol" representing a relatively new technology enabling people to communicate over the Internet as opposed to conventional telephones.
